We are hearing more and more from people who want to put a roof top tent on their Nissan Xterra. Both Yakima and Thule make sturdy crossbars for the Xterra and Frontier. Weight limit on the rack is 125 pounds so you should consider one of our lighter tents like a small or medium Columbus or small Maggiolina. Our OverLand all-fabric tent fits neatly on the Xterra, and is within recommended weight limits. We don't use the factory rack on the older Pathfinders. Yakima crossbars with Q-Towers are rated at 165 pounds - much stronger than the factory tracks. Nissan uprated the Pathfinder's factory rack to 165 pounds in 2000 .
